Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 9 June 1963. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7098 and #7248. Both are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7098 was built in November of 1956, but #7248 was built in October of 1959. In this context, they're pulling an 111-car mineral train from Altoona to Enola along with N-8 cabin car #478178. |
