The ET44AHs have been in service most of the year-since at least February-but I have not been able to catch one leading for a chase. Finally, I was headed up to drop recycling-the transfer station is right next to the tracks, and I often see trains there-when I saw a train on the Lincoln Av crossing. I spun around, getting on US 412, hoping for the bridge shot. Nope-he beat me. But I saw the leaders vaulted radiator, and knew it was a 5000. Off I went. Fortunately, recyclables dont smell!! I caught him as he was going through Watts. |
